{"id":899,"date":"2013-05-02T21:16:15","date_gmt":"2013-05-02T07:16:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hobbsorchard.co.nz\/blog\/hobbsorc_blog\/wordpress\/?p=899"},"modified":"2013-05-02T21:19:27","modified_gmt":"2013-05-02T07:19:27","slug":"sandras-worcestershire-sauce-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hobbsorchard.co.nz\/blog\/hobbsorc_blog\/wordpress\/?p=899","title":{"rendered":"Sandra&#8217;s Worcestershire Sauce Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s Mum&#8217;s world famous Worcestershire Sauce recipe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sandra Hobbs&#8217; Worcestershire Sauce Recipe (1975)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>3 large Onions chopped<\/em><br \/>\n<em>1kg of Brown Sugar<\/em><br \/>\n<em>2 tbsp of ground ginger<\/em><br \/>\n<em>3 tbsp of salt<\/em><br \/>\n<em>2 oranges (sliced roughly)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>4.5 litres of white vinegar<\/em><br \/>\n<em>1.5kg of roughly chopped Apples<\/em><br \/>\n<em>1\/2 tsp of cayenne pepper<\/em><br \/>\n<em>2 tbsp of cloves<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Put all ingredients in a preserving pan or a very large pot. Boil slowly for 3 hours. Strain and pour in sterilized bottles .<\/p>\n<p><strong>VERY IMPORTANT NOTE<\/strong>: Never ever make Worcestershire Sauce on a cold day when you have ALL the windows in the house closed.<br \/>\nWe discovered this the hard way a couple of years back when Mum decided to make a batch on a very, very cold June day.<br \/>\nIt took about three days to get rid smell of white vinegar out of the house!!!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s Mum&#8217;s world famous Worcestershire Sauce recipe.
