PYO update

PYO Moorparks and Nectarines are still on track to start tomorrow 👍😁PYO Roxburgh Red apricots are still all go and still have PYO Sundrop as well.

Please bring your own shopping bags, cardboard boxes, plastic containers, baskets,etc.

The weather has been very unpredictable this week 😳 tomorrow’s forecast predicts there is no rain until approx. 2pm.

Fingers crossed this is the case! For those who are planning to come tomorrow, you are welcome to give me a call on 027 288 6090 before you leave for a weather update.

You can call me as early as 4am if you like 😊On the Stall we have Valley Gold & Peeka apricots, and have just started Stevens Favourite apricots. Stevens Favourite will also be available for PYO approx. mid next week- will confirm closer to the time.Billington (red flesh) plums and Shiro (yellow flesh) plums are now available as well.

Quick update January 15th

Willie came over at 3am to check on us but decided to have a cat nap instead. 😸

Plenty of PYO Sundrops on the trees. Sam can’t confirm a day yet as to when PYO Roxburgh Red apricots will begin. Will let you know when he tells me and Mum.Shiro plums hopefully will be in a few days time. Will confirm in a day or two.

Billington plums are taking longer to ripen due to the weather. I should know in a couple of days as to when the next variety of PYO Nectarines date but fairly sure it will be approx. a weeks time.All the other varieties of PYO apricots are ripening up well.PYO Moorparks at the moment are still on track for the 20th but I will update closer to the time.Sandra (Mum) and I are in the middle of making up plenty of boxes of Sundrops – 1st and 2nd grade.Ring me/call me anytime on 027 288 6090 for all queries.

Happy New Year everyone! 🥳🥳I have been asked as to whether we are open today – yes we are – 7am- 9pm – our usual hours until end of may/early june. Friday 19th December.7am – 9pm 7 days a week Freshly dug New Spuds & Cherries will be in plentiful supply.🍒🍒🥔🥔 You will like our prices! 😊We only sell what we grow. I purchased my new Fowler Preserver 15 years ago from Australia, after all my secondhand Agee Preservers died…and

It arrived four days later!!! Back then Preservers were not available in NZ.

Agee Preservers stopped being manufactured a few decades ago, just incase you are wanting this model.

I might add I never swapped over to Fowlers jars, lids and rings.. as I had hundreds of Agee jars and a stockpile of seals so yes you can use your trusty jars….Actually there are other brands of jars and seals out there these days.

I can definitely recommend this Preserver.

Today is the last day of Granny Smith apples…….. 5kg boxes and 10kg bags

Later tonight, our Fruit Stall closes for the Season.

The past six months have flown by ever so fast

It was great meeting new customers and of course catching up with old ones, some who I have known all of my life!

Also thanks to all those around New Zealand who have purchased our fruit via Courier.

We are sincerely grateful to all of you….without your custom we wouldn’t be in business!

Pruning is next on the list of things to do

My trusty Hydralada and I will be constant companions throughout the next few months and then of course frost-fighting begins and then thinning…Sam and I also have a few hundred new trees to plant out as well
