❗️Urgent Fruit Update ❗️
PYO Roxburgh Red & Valley Gold apricots has finished ??
Yesterday was chaotic and they were all gone by late evening – this has never happened before so we were taken by surprise.
But good news PYO Moorparks are still to come on ??
They will start next Saturday 23 January.
Today we have available the very last of the Roxburgh Red PYO Red apricots and a few trees of small sized Sundrops which were unaffected by the weather. They are ideal for bottling, stewing, freezing ?
PYO Nectarines will now commence on Thursday 21 January.
We have 1.5 kg bags of Shiro plums on the Stall from today and the Stall is always fully stocked with apricots ?
Contact me (Ruby) on 027 288 6090 for any fruit queries/weather updates. Remember we are open from 7am-9pm every day and we only sell what we grow ?

So sorry PYO Sundrop apricots, which was to have started this coming Saturday, has had to be cancelled as they have been damaged by the severe rain of recent days.

Good news though – all other varieties are not affected – so PYO Roxburgh Red and Valley Gold apricots will commence on 15 January

PYO Moorpark and Stevens Favourite apricots are still on track for 22 January.
In thirty years of operating, Mum, Sam and I are devastated that we cannot offer PYO Sundrops this Season and we are so sorry that we have inconvenienced so many

Because we have the time to grade the Sundrops, we can still offer good quality 2nd grade apricots….6kg….$20-00.
Suitable for bottling, freezing, jam, stewing and eating fresh.
If you know of any friends coming up for PYO Sundrops I would really appreciate you tagging them in this post.
Please ring me (Ruby 0272886090) with any queries.
Open 7 days 7am – 9pm.
PYO starts on the 9th!

Rain rain!!
Well what a few days!

Very nice to have just a bit of drizzle/light rain today and not the continual rain unlike the past few days

And it’s warmer too……our fires had been going for the past few days so as to take the chill out of the house
How ridiculous in January

We have plenty of 2nd grade boxes of Sundrops which are suitable for eating, bottling, jam and freezing

Excellent quality 2nd grade I might add

You will definitely like our prices.
At this stage PYO may start on the 9th of January but I can’t guarantee it – so sorry I can’t be more precise – this weather has mucked everything up!

Contact me (Ruby) on 027 288 6090 anytime for a weather update/fruit query

Cherries are all over – the last of them were cracked beyond redemption as the rain sort of came down a wee bit too hard

not impressed but not the end of the world

We have Sundrop and Earli Ril apricots on the Stall in 1st Grade boxes and 2nd Grade bargain boxes

Great for bottling, jam, chutneys, eating and freezing – sundrops frozen in small lots are ideal for smoothies

Apricots are simple to freeze, just halve and chuck them in a freezer bag

You will like our prices!
PYO won’t start for another week or so – will keep you posted

28 December
What a lovely sunny day we’ve had

I can actually hear the fruit ripening as I write – another sunny day is predicted for tomorrow as well

Hard to tell what the rest of the week will be like at the moment as the forecast changes quite frequently

Freshly picked cherries (1kg punnets) as well as Sundrop and Earli Ril apricots (2.5kg bags and 5kg boxes) are on the go at the moment

We have a limited amount of Wilson’s Early plums each day- a favourite with kids.
NZ Couriers start up their fruit deliveries on Tuesday 5 January – from then on Courier fruit orders will be picked up on Monday

Tuesday and Wednesday only

Tuesday is the cut-off day for North Island and also for Rural Delivery orders NZ wide.

Fruit Update
We hope everyone had a great time today as we did ??
Sam went scratch picking today at the very top of the trees and found some Sundrop and Earli Ril apricots which are ahead of the rest so we will have them in 2.5 kg bags on the Fruit Stall as from tomorrow ???
The main Earli Ril and Sundrop apricots should be ready early January as long as we get a bit of warmth in the days.
PYO will probably start between the 7th and 10th of January.
Will keep you posted.
Cherries are still plentiful and are sold in 1 kg punnets ??
Sam, our potato grower, has just informed me that our new spuds will be finished by this Monday so we won’t have any left for New Year ? so sorry about this. We will still have them available tomorrow and Sunday in 2kg bags.
Give me (Ruby) a ring/txt on 027 288 6090 anytime for weather forecasts, fruit updates, orders, etc ?
Remember we are open from 7am – 9pm…..7 days a week and we only sell what we grow ☺️☺️☺️

December 12 Update
The unseasonal weather has slowed down the ripening of the Dawson and Stella cherries hence we have to delay the opening of the Fruit Stall until Monday 21 December

At this time we will have both new spuds and cherries for sale

Big Bertha (bird scarer) is now back in action as the
starlings are doing their best to peck holes through the netting – she is scaring the daylights out of them
Captain Jack is on standby should Big Bertha need a hand

PYO Sundrop apricots will commence on 10 January if summer ever eventuates
at present they are favouring the green colour not orange
