Plenty of Apricots!

There is meant to be a little bit of rain coming in late this afternoon but this morning is meant to be fine so it’s still a great day for PYO!
We still have heaps of lovely ripe Sundrops on the trees just waiting to be picked!

If your not in the mood though we have plenty of fruit on the Stall.

We will be starting PYO Roxburgh Red on Saturday and the price will still be $1.90/kg.

In other news, we are expecting the Moorpark Apricots to be starting around January 26, the Stevens Favourite around January 30, the Nectarines around January 22 and the Peaches around January 25.
This Season is all over the place thanks to this crazy weather!

Stay tuned!

Little Bit of Rain But PYO is Still in Full Swing

We’ve had a little bit of rain this afternoon but it’s meant to clear in the early morning so tomorrow will still be a great day to come and get your PYO Sundrops!

As always the Stall will have a wide range of boxed Sundrops in case your not in a PYO mood!

Wonderful P.Y.O Day!

Today was a wonderful P.Y.O day with a constant stream of people coming from far and wide to pick Apricots.
The weather was absolutely brilliant with a clear blue sky and the temperature hitting around 33c.

The trees are still loaded with lovely fruit just waiting to be picked and the forecast for tomorrow is looking fantastic.
There is meant to be a brief early morning shower but then it’s meant to be fine for the rest of the day with a high of 27c.
Perfect P.Y.O conditions!

Let the good times roll!

P.Y.O Has Started!!!!

Let the P.Y.O Season begin!!
We are starting our P.Y.O Sundrops today (Saturday)!!!!
The price is still $1.90 /kg and the trees are absolutely laden with fruit this year and thanks to a couple of lovely hot days the sugar levels are right up!

Speaking of weather, the forecast is looking great for the weekend as well so it should be a great weekend for picking fruit!

Mum and Ruby will also have the Stall fully stocked with a wide selection of 1st ($3/kg) and 2nd ($2.50) grade boxes of Sundrops so now is the perfect time to get your bottling and freezing Apricots!

On Saturday the 12 we are starting our P.Y.O Sundrops. The P.Y.O price is still $1.90/kg

Nectarines and Peaches are still another 10 – 14 days away thanks to the terrible weather we’ve been having up here lately.

Both 1st($3/kg) and 2nd Grade($2.50/kg) are available.

Over the next couple of days we will have a good supply available on the Stall as finally the Sundrops are all starting to ripen up nicely.
About time!

We Need Sun!

Here’s a photo of “Baby Bird” sunbathing on the pathway to the Fruit Stall.
So happy and so relaxed.
Wouldn’t it be a great life. But then you would have to keep one eye open for a cat so maybe not!

Now for fruit updates.

P.Y.O Sundrops will hopefully start at the end of next week – about the 10 or 12.

It is a nightmare right now trying to predict as to when the fruit is ready due to the lack of sun!

On the Stall right now we have Wilsons Early Plums which are very popular and we will have them for the next 10 days.

The Cherries Have Been Obliterated!

We have no Cherries left thanks to an all day downpour yesterday!
All the Cherries left on the trees have been completely blown and are now useless.
Ain’t life just grand somedays!!

Anyway it’s not all bad news.
We’ve just started our Wilson’s Early Plums today!
They are a gorgeous red-skinned, yellow flesh Plum which are ideal for eating or preserving.

So at the moment on the Stall we have:

Wilsons Early Plums 1kg bag of 1st grade: $3; 2kg box of 2nd Grade: $5
Broad Beans 1kg bag $5

We are still expecting to begin P.Y.O Sundrop Apricots on January 10 so stay tuned for further updates!

Don’t Mention The Rain!!!

Well today’s weather was certainly interesting.
At around 1:20pm we had a very heavy downpour complete with thunder and lightning.
This lasted for around 3 hours off and on. Not ideal growing conditions for Cherries!!

Everytime the rain stopped I jumped on the tractor and blew the water off the Cherries with the sprayer to try and prevent them splitting but I won’t be able to tell how much damage has been done until tomorrow morning.
Certainly no damage to any other fruit including the Apricots as they are not quite ripe enough to be affected.

We’re just happy we didn’t get any hail!! If we had then it would have been a diffent outcome!

Anyway on the Stall at the moment we have:

Cherries (Wlliamson and Stella), 1kg for $8
Broad Beans, 1kg @ $5
